Due to inclement weather the much awaited Valentine Party had to be called off this month. Sorry for the same. But cheer up we will make up with a Colourful Holi bash next month!
Our Executive Committee met on 30th January at Ms.Gopi Panjabi’s residence to decide on the new committee. Please note the changes made in the committee.
We thank our ex-committee members Shanthi Sheshadri and Jyothi Singh for being associated with us all through these years and wish they do remain associated in future too!
We welcome our new committee members, Nimita Lalwani, Nanda Vichare and Priya Chandiramani and wish them all the best.
Suchita Mukhi now takes charge as the Vice-President.

IWA hosted the Presidents Meeting, which includes WIC, ANZA, AWA, JICC and many more, on the 31st January at Ms.Aparna Narang’s residence. She had made wonderful arrangements and the meeting was a success. We thank Aparna for holding the meeting in her residence.
India celebrated Republic Day on the 26th of January. The Ambassador hosted dinner at Four Seasons and was attended by our President Ms. Gopi Panjabi.
We also welcome Henna Aswani as a new member.
SOCIAL WELFARE
Jakarta has been ravaged by floods in the past few weeks, leaving a lot of people homeless and hungry. IWA along with BKKKS has extended its caring arm to help such flood victims. On February 9th, IWA went to the Cengkareng stadium, in Rawa Buaya, to distribute food packets to flood victims who were temporarily sheltered there. An IWA member Nazneen Khubchandani generously donated 29 dozens of women and children undergarments which were distributed to the flood victims in Rawamangun and Bekasi.
SCHOLARSHIP
We are glad to inform all the IWA members that 6 students have graduated on December 2006 from Universitas IBN Khaldun, Bogor – (English Language).

All these students have shown their gratitude and were thankful to the sponsors and IWA for their financial, moral support and motivation to make them successful and confident. They have since started working in schools/ offices.
On behalf of IWA, we wish them a very successful & bright future ahead.
Our Scholarship Bank account with Bank Swadeshi won the Raffles draw held by the bank. They have won a 21” colour television. The same will be offered as a star attraction in our Annual IWA bazaar raffles!
CONGRATULATIONS
Our member Sneha Jagtiani has been blessed with a baby ‘girl’. The IWA family CONGRATULATES the mother and family.
NEXT MEETING
Our HOLI party will be on the Tuesday, 13th of March, 10.30am, at Griha Sindhu, Jl.Samanheudi, Pasar Baru. We will have a demonstration By Gulu Samtani on ‘ESPRESSO COFFEE BISCUITS’ and ‘WAX FLOWER VASE’. This will be followed by Dandia Dance to celebrate Holi in its true spirit! Please do come attired in Indian outfits and make the occasion a great success!!
