Dear Members,
For April meeting, we had a Yoga demonstration by Smita
Sathe. She showed us a lot of yoga asanas and a few
techniques for pranayam. Everyone did those asanas and
pranayams along with her. She also explained the
therapeutic aspects of yoga asanas and pranayams. This
lasted for 45 minutes. After this members had a lot of
queries which Smita answered very patiently. The yoga
demonstration was attended by 32 ladies.
We thank Smita Sathe for coming forward for making this
yoga presentation to all our members. I am sure everyone
enjoyed it and found it equally useful.
The food was contributed by Madhu Adya, Sonal Sadarangani,
Nisha Ashok and Sunita Babani.
New Committee
From January 2006, we have formed a new committee. Three
new members have joined the committee. Nisha Ashok and
Sugandhi in Entertainment and Jyoti Singh as Asst.
Secretary. We welcome them to the committee and look
forward to their association.
May ’06 Meeting

On 9th May, we will be celebrating the 31st Anniversary of
IWA. We have organized a make-up demonstration by Rachna K
Nandwani. She is a specialist is Indian make-up and runs a
salon named
‘Charm” from home for bridal make-up. Recently she took
part in Expo Indonesia and was awarded the 5th best make
up artist. At the meeting she will give tips on how make
up is used for different face types.

The tenure of our Patron, Mrs. Mrinalini Singh in Jakarta
will end shortly. We will also be giving a farewell to her
during the Anniversary lunch.
As the food will be catered by the restaurant, we would
appreciate if people could confirm their attendance latest
by 5th May to Nisha Ashok (Ph. 4213916) so that we can
advise the restaurant about the number of guests. Members
who turn up without prior confirmation will be required to
pay guest charge of Rp.80,000/-.
IWA registered two new members during the April meeting.
We welcome Roshni K Samtani and Meera Arya Sodhani to the
IWA family.
We are sure lot of our members have special talents or
knowledge. We would appreciate if you share it with all
our members by giv ing a presentation or talk. Please come
forward and contact our committee member, Suchita Mukhi so
that we can arrange for a presentation by you.
Reminder
This is our final reminder for paying the annual
subscription fee for the year 2006. Our membership fee is
Rp.120,000/- per annum and guest fee Rp.30,000/- per
meeting except for lunch meetings in restaurants. This is
your last change to pay up your dues for the year 2006,
otherwise from June’06 your newsletter will be
discontinued. This is your last opportunity to pay the
subscription for 2006.
Social Welfare
In addition to the regular monthly donations to the six
Yayasans, IWA gave Green Beans, Jaggery, School Uniforms,
Caps and used clothes to Muara Angke and Marunda flood.
So, see you folks, on 9th May at Haveli for an interesting
morning to celebrate the 31st anniversary of IWA.
