October, 2005
IWA event last month was a cooking
demonstration. We met at the Sadhu Vaswani Centre in Podomoro on 13th
Sept. Our Committee Member, Shanti Sheshadri and Sugandhi, also a
member showed us how to prepare various mouth watering south Indian
delicacies. The arrangements of all the materials for this
demonstration was done personally by Shanti and Sugandhi. They
demonstrated the following dishes:

Idli, samber and two types of
chutney
-
Masala Vada
-
Brinjol rice, lemon rice and
coconut rice
-
Kuzhiappam
The dishes cooked in the
demonstration were also served to all the members at the function.
Our sincere thanks to Shanti and Sugandhi for taking all the efforts
to make this mornings event a success. Aparna Narang brought delicious
Gulab Jamuns and papads to the meeting. Our thanks to her for her
contribution.
The event was attended by an astonishing number of 78 ladies.
OCTOBER, 2005
Event of the year, the Charity Bazaar will be held on Wednesday,
19th October at the Ball Room, Hotel Four Seasons (Hotel
Regent), Jl. H.R. Rasuna Said, Kuningan, Jakarta Selatan between 9.00
am to
6.00 p.m.. There are many stalls selling different kinds of
handicrafts, household items, clothing, jewelry, gift items, etc. from
different parts of Indonesia and India. There will also be a Tambola
Stall with many attractive gifts. SPECIAL ATTRACTION, DON’T MISS
THIS OPPORTUNITY. For all IWA members of the year 2005, there is a
special discount of 50% on the Entrance Ticket to the Bazaar. Members
who have not paid their subscription can do so now and avail of this
special discount on Entry Tickets.
We are glad to welcome you and your family and as many of your friends
so that this Charity Bazaar is a grand success.
CONDOLENCES
We are sad to inform you that our Committee Member, Sunita Babani lost
her father in September. Our condolences to her. May his soul rest in
peace and may God give her and her family the strength to bear this
loss.
SOCIAL WELFARE
A contact meeting was held on 21st Sept. ’05 at the BKKKS office. It
was attended by six women’s organizations. IWA was the host this time
and some of the Committee Members represented IWA at the meeting. We
exchanged social welfare reports with each other. BKKKS gave us a
requirement list from which each women’s organization had to choose
their commitments. The refreshment was provided by the IWA committee
members.
Yayasan Nerah Murni organizes a ‘Pasar Murah’ around Lebaran time
every year for the low income group people. IWA contributed sugar and
rice to this noble cause.
So folks, come one, come all and see you on 19th October at the
Charity Bazaar at the Four Seasons Hotel.
