BALAVIHAR
The Balavihar encourages Indian
children to understand and appreciate their culture. The sessions
are interactive and allow the children to share their viewpoints
regarding various topics. Balavihar isn’t just about reciting
shlokas and listening to stories of mythological context. It’s
about developing social awareness. Active discussions are held to
help the children learn to deal with everyday situations.
Worksheets and games enhance this learning and growing process.

The Balavihar conducts
sessions weekly, with the children placed in two groups : Group 1
- ages 4-8, and Group 2 - ages 8-12
The year is divided into two
terms –
1) August to December,
2)
January to May
At the end of each term, a
variety show is arranged, and plays are enacted. Games and quizzes
are also organized. Festivals are also celebrated in a similar
fashion.
| YUVAKENDRA |
The Yuvakendra is targeted at the
youth, aged between 12 and 18. Challenges and situations in
everyday life are the topic of discussion. Feedback of viewpoints
regarding the handling of these situations are also encouraged.
The Yuvakendra sessions are
scheduled to begin in January 2001. The venue and time are yet to be
fixed.
| ADULT STUDY GROUP |
We encourage adults to come
forward for a group study of the Vedanta. These are scheduled to begin in
mid November 2000.
