The Basics :
Supple Skin Needs Tender
Care
When
it comes to care, its taken for granted that only a mature skin needs
a proper beauty regime or a facial or a treatment. Well, even supple,
soft, highly elastic young skin can suffer from pimples, rough skin,
spots and rashes. A young person's skin needs a simple but right skin
care regime which does not overload the skin with too many products or
harsh treatments.
Skin Care Programme
A young 13-23-year-old skin needs
mild yet effective care to ward-off niggling problems. Here’s how
one can begin:
Deep Cleansing
This is a compulsory routine.
There are many ways to clean your skin but you need to use the right
product for your skin texture and type.

Normal to Dry skin:
This
skin type has a tendency to go dry. You need a gentle cleanser packed
with full moisturising ingredients which can be enriched with coconut
or jojoba oils or equally effective commercial moisturisers. You could
try a home or a commercial product as per your choice.
Home Recipe:
You need two tsp. fresh home cream, one tsp. honey, half tsp. jojoba
oil. Whip all three together. Massage the face for a minute. Clean
with damp cotton. Rinse face and apply toner immediately.
Oily and Combination skin:
Young skin is usually a combination type, which envelops black-heads
and whiteheads on the bridge and the sides of the nose and below the
lower lip. The cleanser should be such that it gently removes excess
grease and helps in bringing the blackheads on the surface of the
skin.
Try this Out:
You need two tsp. fine oatmeal, one tsp. rice powder, two-five drops
tea-tree oil, five drops fresh orange oil. Mix all together. Add rose
water to make a paste. Massage gently on the face and neck for a
minute. Rinse. Pat dry.

Sensitive
skin:
Sensitive skin cleansers should contain nothing, which is likely to
cause irritation or allergy. It should be perfume free. Try this home
recipe. You need one tsp. fresh curd, two-five drops chamomile oil.
Mix together. Massage on face an wipe off with moist cotton. Rinse and
pat dry.
Moisturiser
Young skin has excellent moisture
levels hence strong cream-based moisturisers are simply not
recommended. What it needs is water-based, natural moisture enhancers
to protect the skin from the ravages of the environment.
Normal to Dry skin:
If your skin is normal, your are lucky. You could try a water-based
light lotion but if your skin feels tight and uncomfortable you’ll
still need a lotion but a water-in-oil type. Apply it every day on
damp skin and gently massage.
Home recipe:
You need two tsp. honey, one tsp. egg yolk, two-five drops Jojoba oil,
three drops olive oil. Mix together, massage on face, and leave for 15
minutes and then wash-off with a cleanser.
Oil to Combination skin:
Oily skin shines all day through and blackheads love it. Unless your
skin is exceptionally oily, you’ll still need some extra moisture.
Always use oil free or non-come-dogenic moisturisers.
Try this out:
You need two tsp. honey, 10 drops lime juice, five drops tea-tree oil,
two tsp. rose water. Mix together. Apply on face and neck. Leave for
30 minutes. Rinse with plain water.
Protection:
Young
skin needs good care and protection from environmental hazards line
sunrays and pollutants. When you begin to take care of your skin when
you’re young, you can prevent a number of problems at a later stage.
Only if you’re planning be out in the sun the whole day through, you
would need a sunscreen. Otherwise simply use a good effective lotion
that you can make yourself. Use it everyday as a protective base
before going out. You need one 60 ml bottle of calamine lotion, 30 ml
of moisturiser of your skin type, five ml lavender oil, five ml
tea-tree oil. Mix all and bottle. This lotion can be stored for as
long as a year.
You have to apply it on face, neck, hands and legs before leaving
outdoors. This protects against all environmental pollutants.
Young skin normally suffers from excessively greasy complexions, spots
and acne.

Spots and blackheads are the result
of the over activity of the sebaceous glands particularly found on
the face, shoulders and upper chest. Blackheads are caused by dead
skin cells and oils plugging the pores. Pimples occur when oil
trapped under the blocked forces seeps into the surrounding skin
tissue. You can see this activity on you skin as redness and
inflammation when the normally harmless bacteria in your skin gets
to work and an infection sets in.
Blackheads:
Don’t
squeeze them. It’ll result in infection. For blackheads give some
hot fomentation on affected area and then extract with blackhead
recover. Don’t touch deep down ones. You will only scar yourself.
Try this blackhead lotion which helps blackheads to come to surface.
So that extracting them but becomes easier.
You need 10 drops cajiput oil, 10 drops lemon oil, 10 drops tea-tree
oil. Mix all, blend and bottle. Apply on blackheads or whiteheads
and gently massage with finger tips. Remove blackheads. Splash cold
water to clear pores.
Pimples:
Applying neat tea-tree oil helps to dry pimples. Use it three-six
times a day. Leave it on. The tea-tree oil kills infection and
render the area aseptic.
Excessively Greasy skin:
Young skin can be excessively greasy especially during periods.
If you suffer from this, do not use harsh soaps to counter grease.
Try applying fresh orange oil on greasy areas to absorb excess
sheen. Wash face with Pears oil clear soap.
