Dear Devotees,
With great pleasure we wish to inform you that with the Blessings of Lord Balaji and His Divine Consort Goddess Mahalakshmi, we will be Installing the Divine Utsava Moorthy ( in other words the Divine Procession Deity ) of Goddess Mahalakshmi at the Jakarta Pluit Temple in the Sanctum next to the Sanctum of Lord Balaji.
With no pretense to any great Spiritual Knowldege and in all humility I would like to add that the Procession Deity is the Deity that is taken out of the Temple Sanctum in a Pallaquin or a Rath and,back in India the Procession has the objective of taking the Lord or the Direct Substitute of the Lord to the place where people live ( as the Main Moorthy is Fixed and is not mobile ). As the Procession takes place, devotees throng the streets and after every few meters the Procession stops and the Priest performs Aarati Seva to the Deity, while the Devotees get a Golden Chance to offer Flowers, Fruits or Prasad to the Deity..This is a great event and people participate eagerly with great spiritual flavour and consider themselves Blessed.The Divine Procession also gives opportunity to all of us to do Spiritual Seva by lending our shoulders to the Pallaquin and receive the Blessings of the Lord.
In Jakarta of course we cannot organize this kind of an event, but we can organize a Procession Seva inside the Temple itself. Some of you would have witnessed similar Sevas during the Annual Brahmotsavam Festival for Lord Balaji at the Pluit Temple.
So, as we already have been Blessed to have a Procession Deity for Lord Balaji and his consorts, we will now install a Procession Deity for Goddess Mahalakshmi.
This Procession Deity Moorthy ( Idol ) is made up of Panchaloka and was Sculpted in the Greatest Abode of Lord Balaji - Tirupathi.
A Priest from India will accompany the Priest who is currently doing the Daily Nitya Sevas to the Lord and together they will Consecrate the Deity ( Installation ) accord to Vedic Recommendations by performing Vedic Rituals, which will include Sankalpa, Kalasa Sthapana, Havan, Kalasa Aradhana,Special Sevas, Abhishekas with Milk,Tender Conconut, Honey, Haldi, Chandan, Sri Mahalakshmi Sahasra Nama Havan and Archana ( Chanting of 1008 names of Goddess Mahalakshmi ) etc..So far away from our home land, we should consider our selves Blessed that such a Great Event will take place at Pluit Temple.
