Reservations

To ensure your passage on the required date, a reservation should be made and the fare paid well in advance. At destination or transfer points, Economy Class passengers are advised to check return on onward reservations at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled departure of their flight except on the INDIA/UK/INDIA, INDIA/USA/INDIA, INDIA/EUROPE/INDIA and INDIA/JAPAN/INDIA ROUTE. Definite return or onward bookings can be arranged at all stations if a request is made sufficiently in advance.

A normal fare ticket is valid for one year from the date of commencement of the journey. In case of special fare tickets, the validity would depend on the type of fare used, as indicated on your ticket. It is advisable to convey your contact telephone numbers at origin and enroute stopovers directly to the airline or through your travel agents. Special meal requests should also be conveyed at the time of making your reservations. Advance selection of seats for First and Executive Class passengers on international sectors is also available. Let us know the name of the passenger, PNR and two seat preferences here (subject to availability).

Passport / Visas

Air-India or its agents will gladly provide information regarding passports, travel permits or visas required for your journey, but you must ensure personally that these documents are in order. The carrier cannot accept responsibility for the consequences of any irregularity. You will have to show your passport or travel permit during your journey, so please carry it with you on board the aircraft.

Check-in / Reporting Time

Check-in counters will be closed 45 minutes before departure of a flight. However, as certain governmental formalities are required to be completed by passengers at the airport before and after being accepted by the airline for travel, passengers must report at the check-in counters sufficiently before the departure time of the flight. Check-in times for individual flights should be enquired in advance from the airline's booking and airport offices.

The time(s) shown on the flight coupon(s) is the departure time of the aircraft. Flights cannot be delayed for passengers arriving late for check-in and no responsibility can be accepted in such cases by Air-India.

The following documents are required to be produced at the time of check-in :

  • Your airline ticket
  • Your passport containing a valid visa
  • Receipt of Foreign Travel Tax (if not paid at the time of ticket issue)
  • Any other documents that may be required as per local regulations.
