Hathyar

Hathyar is a sequel to Vaastav which was as story of a gangster, Raghunath Namdeo Shivalkar aka Raghubhai. In Vaastav, Raghu dies in the end & is survived by a son Rohit, wife Sonu (Namrata Shirodkar), mother (Reema), father (Shivaji Satam) & brother (Mohnish Behl).

Hathyar takes of from the point where Rohit Raghunath Shivalkar (Sanjay Dutt) has become a municipal corporator of the area where he lives. The Story begins with Rohit shot at by his most trusted lientenant Pakya (Sharad Kapoor). He is admitted in the hospital where doctors operate upon his bullet-ridden body. Rohit, with his eyes open, goes into a flash back which unfolds Rohit's childhood post Raghu’s death. How he grows into a college going youngster and is forced by circumstances to enter the underworld. He falls in love with Shilpa (Shilpa Shetty), his childhood neighbour. Pakya, somewhere inside, cannot digest the closeness which Munna shares with Rohit. He eventually creates a misunderstanding in Rohit's mind against Munna, which leads to Munna’s killing. Shilpa, who in the meantime, has left home objecting to Rohit’s nefarious activities & found shelter at Munna's house, remains a mute witness to Munna’s killing.

Hathyar has many such shades to it. It also has a lot of characters directly connected to the main characters of the film Rohit Raghunath Shivalkar. It has a lot of scenes, perfectly interweaved, to make it a good narrative with a bottom of line. “ A MAN WHO LIVES BY THE GUN DIES BY THE GUN “ Source: IndiaFM News Bureau
