Brown Rice
Serves 2
Kombu (kelp) is sold in the dried foods section of Japanese supermarkets.
- 1 cup brown rice
- 1 cup water
- 1 5 cm sheet kombu (kelp)
- Rinse rice in running water.
- Add water and kombu. Cook rice in a pot the gas hob or in a rice cooker. If cooking in a pot, bring the water to boil, turn down to medium heat and for one hour.
- If using a crockpot, put in 21/2 cups water to 1cup rice. Leave rice to cook overnight or up 12 hours.
