Shabana
Akbany is of Indian origin ,who is settled here
in Jakarta , since 18 years ,after her marriage
into a local Indian family . She grew up in
a large family of uncles , aunts and cousins . Since
there were so many ladies in the household the
children of her household were rarely allowed
to enter the kitchen. But what was laid out on their
table was so delicious that she often wondered
how such results were produced !!!
Thus began Shabana's early interest in cooking . She
was a novice to the kitchen even when she got
married . She began learning cooking techniques with enthusiasm
and zest with the help of her Mother
-in -law and referring to traditional recipes written in
books when locating to Jakarta . This slowly
resulted in her producing dishes that her
husband ,family and friends began to appreciate and relish
. Now an efficient cook, she plays a confident
hostess to her many successful dinner and lunch
parties, entertaining family and friends.
Moghlai food has an outstanding contribution
towards Indian Cuisine. It being an important
part of almost all Indian festivities and
celebrations . Laying stress on all good ingredients, low flame, patient cooking and rich spices
Moghlai food is a legacy of the Moghals and is
undoubtedly the "DASTARKHAAN KI SHAAN " of
many an Indian household .
