Introduction
Vaastu Sastra or the science of
Vaastu are the guidelines given by the Supreme Being. It tells us how
to avoid disappointments, diseases and disasters by living in
structures which allow a positive cosmic field to be present.
The benefits of following Vaastu are
given in the opening verse of Vaastu Sastra written by great sage
Viswakarma which covers all the beneficial aspects of Vaastu. This is
what the sage says:
'Sastrenanena sarvasya'
(This science is complete in itself)
'Lokasya paramam sukham'
(It can bring happiness to the whole world)
'Chaturvarga phala prapti'
(It bestows on you all four types of benefits namely rightful
living-money-fulfillment of desires and bliss)
'Salokascha bhaved dhruvam'
(Are all available in this world itself)
In ancient India the vaasthu sastra was developed based on the
magnetic force and the cosmic forces acting on the earth surface.
vaasthu sastra states that every energy has life and nothing in
universe is left out without any vibration. The major force that
is exercising energy is wind, water, fire, and the presence of the
cosmic energy called sky and earth.
The proper alignment of the rooms with proportionate sizes
harmonizes the energies and it gives the peace of mind to those
who lives in that premises in short the vaasthu harmonizes the
cosmic forces and makes the life pleasant.
Vaasthu was developed in the period of B.C 6000 to B.C 3000. In
those days this science was purely dealt by the people called
"sathpathis" in modern version we can equate them as
architects, structural engineers etc. in those days the individual
houses, public halls, palace and temples are constructed strictly
as per the vaasthu principles called as agama sastra. They have
the unique method in ascertaining the consistency of the soil,
designing the structures etc the temples in India that seen period
of more than 1000 years are standing in tact as a marvel of
construction. The technology adopted by them is amazing; it is
impossible to erect the kind of structure with all the modern
technologies even today.
There is lot of meaning and essence in this ancient sastra, stands
good even today, we are very much convinced by adopting and
applying this science in today's life will bring lot of harmony to
the society.

The open areas should be in the northern side and the
eastern side of the plots only.
If the construction is in the north and the eastern areas brings
sorrow and ill health only it is better to avoid such type of
constructions.

Roads

Perpendicular Roads
:
- North of North east perpendicular road ensures
over all prosperity.
- East of Northeast ensures over all prosperity.

South of south east indicative of financial constrains,and
should be guarded against fire accidents.
- South of south east is good for business success and also
for women.
- South of south west this is not desirable and brings only
labor troubles,financial crunch etc and it should be avoided.
- West of south west it affects the promoter in terms of
finance,litigation and labor trouble etc. it should be avoided.
- West of north west it gives reputation knowledge leader
ship, over all control and prosperity.
- North of n.w if the level of the road is on the lesser side
then the results can be positive but generally the results are
fluctuating by nature and problems can be anticipated from the
regulatory bodies. It also attracts illegal activities.

:
1 - this area can be used as kitchen,drawing
room etc.
2 - this area can be used as dining room
3 - this Pooja room, washing area etc.
4th and 5th part calculated after dividing 9 equal parts
from south east to north west and taking 4th and 5th part for
fixing the entrance. This place can also be used as the drawing
room.
5 - this area can be used as living room toilet area etc.
6 - this area can also be used as living room toilet etc.
7 - This area can be used as a master bed room
8 &9 - these areas can be used as additional bed room,
toilet and balcony area

The area represented by 9 is called bhrmasthan this area
should be kept open to air in large size building. In the case of
flats also it is ideal to keep this area open to sky. But nowadays
this area is covered with acrylic sheet to allow the sun rays to
enter in side the complex this stategy is also permissable
according to vaasthu principles.

- North east should be sloping and ideal to have
the water bourn areas like lakes, river,ponds etc.
- East should be sloping, plains and greenery is preferred.
- South east it is better to have the upward gradients,
meadows and ideal for union building, restaurants, canteen etc.
- South should be raised and elevated surface, dumping
yard,heavy and larger trees, hills etc.
- South west this area also should have elevation also ideal
for constructing quarters for officers and top level executives.
- West this area should be elevated and ideal to have the town
ship,raised meadows etc. This area is ideal to have the heavier
trees and greenery.
- North this area can have the parks and the play grounds.
Schools and also the community hall can be constructed here.
- Sea or the river running in the north/east/north east is
good for prosperity.
- The drainage water stagnation in the
east / northeast / north
will be harmful.
- The presence of the water bourn areas in the south
or
western side may prove financial losses.

Gate

1. Main Gate
The main gate and the main entrance to the
building can be in line with each other. The right side entry to the building is good.
Back side entry should be avoided. Left side entrance also considered to be bad.
2. Entrance point on four sides
The pattern of the ruling of the planet is mentioned
above. The areas ruled by venus, jupiter, mars can always be
considered as auspicious the areas ruled by the moon is also
favorable, so these parts of the building can be chosen to keep
the entrances. |
