I hv always been a fan of Mr.Chandramouli's articles, especially the ones in Jakarta Post for many years now, also his comments in reader's write column.
Almost all his articles carry a message presented in a very palatable way
using common sense and examples, this one is no different from them, it opens our eyes to a healthy living. in fact I hv formed one habit many years back after reading Mr. Chandra's article on drinking six glasses of pure water in the morning immediately after waking-up, thanks to this advice it has really helped me in many many ways.
We all await anxiously for his next article in Jkt Post.
Thanking you and best wishes.

Heavily cliched but fairly true in bits. Didn't really say too much
And no insights though. Didn't really stick to the point which one.
Presumes was vegetarianism (sudden deviation into hotels with man made
waterfalls and grandma serving food !!!?)

I totally agree that the Vegetarian Diet is the more healthy option - but it is important for the Vegetarian to follow a well balanced diet to replace the nutrients found in meat.
Could the writer of this article suggest a Diet using Vegetarian ingredients to enable us to get from the food we eat:
80% Protein
10% Carbohydrates
10% Fat.
I would be very interested to know the Vegetarian sources for Protein. As a man weighing 175Lbs I need to consume
175grams of Protein in a day - a Vegetarian Menu showing how this can be accomplished would be very helpful to me and others who are Vegetarian and those who are thinking of switching to a Vegetarian Diet.
Finally I would like to congratulate the writer on this well written and thought provoking article.

Dear Mr.Chandramouli,
I agree vegetarianism can be healthy but you don't
have to adopt a patronising attitude towards nonvegetarians. It is
healthier to be a vegetarian if one eats the right kind of vegetarian
food. Moreover in India you find lots of people from the middle income
group eating in restaurants. Its an outing for many people and its fu n
with the right company.I think its more a question of moderation as it
is in most matters.
