The India in Indonesia (Embassy of India, Jakarta) will organized Yoga events in large scale to celebrate the first International Day of Yoga at Plaza Selatan, Gelora Bung Karno, Jl. Pintu Satu Senayan, Jakarta Pusat on 21 June 2015.

Similar events will also be organized in Bali at Lapangan Puputan Margarana (Bajra Sandhi Monument), Jl. Niti Mandala, Renon, Denpasar; in Medan at Gurudwara Shri Arjun Dev Ji premises Jl. Mawar no. 23, Desa Sari Rejo, Medan-Polonia and in Surabaya at Gedung Olahraga (Sports Stadium), Jl. Hayam Wuruk 54 A, on the same day.

In its resolution, the UNGA recognized that Yoga provides a holistic approach to health and well-being. Indonesia was one of the countries which supported the resolution on ‘International Day of Yoga’. The Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi thanked Pak Joko Widodo, the President of Indonesia for extending support to the proposal. The Yoga celebrations in Indonesia are part of global celebrations being organized by Indian Embassies around the world in cooperation with the host governments and partners to celebrate the first International Day of Yoga
