HUT RI ke-80: Bersatu & Berdaulat, Rakyat Sejahtera, Indonesia Maju (United & Sovereign, Prosperous People, Advanced Indonesia)
On 17 August 2025, Indonesia will mark a historic milestone — 80 years of independence. Eight decades since the Proklamasi Kemerdekaan, the nation will unite under the powerful theme chosen by President Prabowo Subianto:
“Bersatu & Berdaulat, Rakyat Sejahtera, Indonesia Maju” (United & Sovereign, Prosperous People, Advanced Indonesia).
This theme is more than words — it’s a call to action. “United & Sovereign” speaks to our shared commitment to harmony, collaboration, and protecting the nation’s dignity. “Prosperous People” reflects the government’s mission to raise living standards through flagship programs like Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) and Sekolah Rakyat, ensuring every child has access to food and education. And “Advanced Indonesia” represents our dream to stand tall as a developed nation by 2045.
The Logo was designed by Bram Patria Yoshugi and personally selected by the President from 245 entries, the minimalist red-and-white logo features the number 80 intertwined to form an infinity symbol — a visual representation of unity, continuity, and endless progress.
This year, the Merdeka Palace will welcome 16,000 attendees — 8,000 in the morning for the flag-raising, and 8,000 in the afternoon for the flag-lowering ceremony. Across the country, homes, schools, offices, and public spaces will proudly raise the Sang Saka Merah Putih in honour of those who fought and sacrificed for our freedom.
President Prabowo has called on all Indonesians to embrace the semangat kemerdekaan with joy, pride, and togetherness:
“Red stands for the blood spilled for our independence, white for the purity of our soul.”
From 1945 to today, our journey has been one of courage, unity, and relentless hope. As we celebrate HUT RI ke-80, let’s carry forward the spirit of independence — not just as a memory of the past, but as a promise to build an Indonesia that is strong, united, prosperous, and advanced.
Merdeka!
