Having long, thick and lush lashes are every woman’s dream. This is because thick, curled lashes can frame your eyes and make it look larger and more defined. There are countless ways at creating thicker, luscious lashes from eyelash extensions to false lashes. However, there are easier and safer ways to lengthen and thicken your lashes while also nourish it at the same time.

Here are the ingredients you can use to take care of your lashes:

Olive Oil

Among several ingredients, one of the most effective lash-lengthening ingredients would be olive oil. This is because the ingredient is packed with essential fatty acids that work on promoting hair growth and prevents loss of lashes. It keeps the area hydrated, strengthens hair follicles which in turn makes your eyelashes longer and thicker than ever.

What To Do: Since its on your lashes, you will need 3-4 drops of olive oil and 1-2 cotton swabs. Pour those few drops of olive oil on the cotton swab and apply it to your upper and lower lashes. Then leave for 5-10 minutes before washing it off with lukewarm water.

Green Tea

Drinking tea has been the star ingredient on so much of our health from weight loss, lowering blood sugar levels and more. But its star ingredient, the Flavonoids and polyphenol called epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) has been proven to improve hair health. For that reason, drinking it on a regular basis has been shown to improve the length as well as the volume of your lashes.

What To Do: There are many ways to apply this, but the most effective way is to drink it or applying it topically. Prepare 1 teaspoon of green tea leaves (or 1 tea bag) and 1 cup of hot water. Mix the two ingredients and steep for 5-10 minutes. Next, strain the liquid and drink it warm. To apply it topically, cool the tea and apply to upper and lower lashes using a cotton swab. Drink the tea twice a day and use it topically once daily. Else, place a green tea bag on the lids to grow eyelashes and calm your tired eyes all.

Shea Butter

For intense hydration, you can count on shea butter to do the trick. Putting on shea butter on your lashes will therefore hydrate it, making it grow long and strong. This ingredient also contains vitamin C, which is a rich source of antioxidants that help prevent damage caused by free radicals as well as increase collagen production. Together, all these benefits will create strong, healthy lashes.

What To Do: Take a little bit of shea butter and rub it between your fingers until it melts. Then, apply to lower and upper lashes. Leave it on overnight.

Biotin Supplements

If all the methods you tried haven’t worked, then you can try consuming biotin supplements after speaking with your doctor. It may be that the reason none of it worked was because you had a biotin deficiency. This can lead to hair fall, including loss of eyebrow and eyelash hair as well. Taking these supplements will help thicken your lashes over time and make them appear long and strong.

Castor oil

Other than olive oil, castor oil is another star ingredient in the beauty world. From treating sunburns and wrinkles to preventing premature greying and dandruff, all can be done by introducing castor oil on their daily skincare and hair care regimen. One of its many benefits is that it does an amazing job of promoting hair growth. According to research, it is one of the quickest remedy to improve hair growth and can get you results five times sooner than any other ingredient.

What To Do:

The first thing you can do is to prepare 1 teaspoon of cold-pressed castor oil and a few cotton swabs. Then clean your eyelashes thoroughly with water and pat them dry with a mild cleanser. Dip the cotton swab in cold-pressed castor oil and apply it along your upper and lower lash lines. Be careful to avoid getting the oil into your eyes. Keep the oil on overnight and wash it off the next morning.

The second way is to create your own DIY eyelash growth serum by mixing aloe vera with castor oil. Apply it to the lashes at night, and watch. This stimulates hair growth and makes the lashes dense, which makes them appear thicker.
