Meet Tanishka Gopalan – Media & Communications Intern at Indoindians
Tanishka Gopalan is the newest addition to the Indoindians team as a Media and Communications intern. An Indian citizen born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia, Tanishka brings with her a deep cultural understanding of both India and Indonesia. Her parents have lived in Indonesia for over two decades, and Tanishka spent the first 18 years of her life in Jakarta. Growing up in a multicultural environment, she developed a strong appreciation for the vibrant blend of Indian and Indonesian cultures.
Having attended an international school in Jakarta, Tanishka was exposed to a diverse range of perspectives and witnessed firsthand the growing presence and influence of the Indian community in Indonesia. Her upbringing has shaped her admiration for both nations and inspired her desire to contribute to cultural awareness and community engagement.
Currently an undergraduate student at the University of Liverpool, Tanishka is pursuing a degree in Media and Communications and has just completed her first year. Through her internship at IndoIndians, she is eager to apply her academic knowledge in a practical setting, while gaining deeper insight into the Indian diaspora in Indonesia.
Tanishka sees this opportunity as a meaningful way to connect with her roots and support a platform that celebrates the strong bonds between India and Indonesia. She looks forward to contributing her skills, learning from the Indoindians team, and being part of a growing movement that promotes cultural understanding and collaboration.
