As Ramadan ends, then comes a day of celebration known as Idulfitri or Eid al-Fitr. 𝐊𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐩𝐚𝐭, the iconic rice cake on Idulfitri, is often seen being served alongside the main dishes. Ketupat has two meanings, namely "𝑛𝑔𝑎𝑘𝑢 𝑙𝑒𝑝𝑎𝑡" which means admitting a mistake, and "𝑙𝑎𝑘𝑢 𝑝𝑎𝑝𝑎𝑡" which describes the four sides of this legendary dish.

The four sides have their own names and meanings:

-The 1st side, Eid, means opening the door of forgiveness for others.
-The 2nd side, Luberan, means abundance and alms to people in need.
-The 3rd side, Leburan, means forgiving the sins that have been committed during the year.
-The 4th side, Laburan, means become pure again like a new born baby.

Are you ready for Mudik?

Lebaran is a religious celebration that occurs after the fasting period of Ramadan. One thing that is done commonly to majority parts of muslim in Indonesia is called ‘𝐦𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐤’ (homecoming).

Mudik is the annual exodus tradition by the Muslim population in Indonesia to celebrate the ‘day of victory’. This is done on a short time period, solely to see their family after being away from home. Mudik is seen as the perfect opportunity for settlers to gather and greet extended family members they do not meet regularly. In 2024, the peak of mudik is expected to occur from 𝟓 𝐭𝐨 𝟕 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒. The odd-even regulatory schedule will also be enforced.

Muslims are still fasting Ramadan fasting for several more days. Some of them continue to exercise while fasting. However, is it safe to exercise while fasting?

During Ramadan, it is highly recommended to decrease the intensity of your workout. On a typical Ramadan day you have to fast for 8 to 10 hours, plus your daily busy day. So, if you lift, reduce the weight. If you go to 2 group exercise classes a day, maybe you want to consider going only for one class. Just go easy on yourself, so that your Ramadan and your fitness goals can run smoothly.
