Will it be a Girl or a Boy? Chinese Gender Chart

2122

As legend would have it, the Chinese Gender Chart was buried in a royal tomb over 700 years ago. Recently discovered, the chart has been used to predict the gender of an unborn child based on the mother’s age and month of conception.

Simply find the age of the mother at the time of conception on the chart below and then follow across to the month the baby was conceived to find the predicted gender. Although this chart is said to have a success rate of over 90 percent, nothing is perfect. But check out your own kids and see if its accurate, then suggest to would be mothers!

The Chinese Gender Chart’s accuracy appears to be as vague as its source of origin, despite the widespread (but unsubstantiated) claim that it’s over 90% accurate.

A study conducted by Eduardo Villamor, MD, DrPH, a professor of epidemiology at the University of Michigan School of Public Health showed that the Chinese Gender Chart got about a 50-50 chance of being right. Ultimately, the Chinese Gender Predicter “is no better at predicting the sex of a baby than tossing a coin,” he wrote in the study abstract.

But at the end of the day, consider the real point of the Chinese Gender Chart. You may not be able to completely trusts its results, but taking it would be so fun. It’s meant to be an entertaining game, a welcome break from the tasks of the day and the stress of pregnancy.
