Ingredients:

  • 300g tempeh, steamed for about 15 minutes and mashed
  • 1 stalk celery, chopped
  • 1 egg (use only the egg white)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • 1 green onion (use the white part), thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoon margarine/oil for frying
  • 4 slices of cheese

How to Make It:

1. Shape the steamed and mashed tempeh mixture into flat round patties, about 7 cm wide and 3 cm thick.

2. Coat each patty with egg white.

3. Fry in margarine/oil until golden brown.

4. Place the cooked patty between toasted burger buns. Add cheese, lettuce, tomato, and ketchup as toppings.
