reiki_Are you one of those people who scoff at alternate forms of healing? Hey, have you heard about Reiki? Here is something that definitely deserves a second thought. Jesus Christ, Buddha and Guru Nanak healed people by what is now understood to be Reiki.

reikiThe word ‘Reiki’ (pronounced as ray-key) comes from two Japanese words ‘rei’ and ‘ki’. ‘Rei’ means universal spirit power and ‘ki’ means life force energy (the prana in Sanskrit.). Sounds abstract, right? To make it simpler: every thing in the universe is made of energy. Reiki is a system that is based on the premise that this energy can be influenced by thought. Therefore a Reiki practitioner can channel this energy to heal someone.

Reiki healing is performed very simply. The Reiki practitioner places his or her hands upon the person to be healed with the intent for healing to occur and helps the energy within the patient to overcome his disease. The amazing thing about Reiki is that expert Reiki practitioners can even cure persons who are far away. Reiki can be used to cure pets and even non-living things!!! So the next time your car gets stuck, you know whom to call, your neighbourhood Reiki expert! Reiki can also be used to cure emotional problems and help relationships.

You can become a Reiki channel yourself. You’ll have to enrol in a class with a Reiki master. To become a Reiki practitioner of the first level, you will have to undergo a process of initiation for about three weeks. Reiki practitioners of the first level are taught physical healing. Practitioners of the second level are taught emotional and spiritual healing, advanced physical healing and long distance healing.

The best thing about Reiki is that it is totally unconditional. You do not have to stick to a diet or give up things that you normally do to adopt Reiki. Besides it’s easy to learn and simple to use. The only limitation is your willingness to accept this form of healing.
