Spicy Vegetable Momos Recipe


Rather than just eat traditional vegetarian momos, adding spice will add a punch to the dish. Especially with Tibetian hot sauce, the momos will become more flavorful!

Spicy Vegetarian Filling Ingredients:

  • 25 gr Chinese Taro Root
  • 20 gr Chinese Cabbage
  • 20 gr carrot
  • 3 gr Shiitake Mushroom
  • 25 gr Bengkuang/Jitama Root
  • 3 gr Mushroom Seasoning
  • 20 gr Sugar
  • 1 gr White pepper
  • 2 gr Salt
  • 10 ml Sesame oil
  • 50 ml Cooking oil
  • 5 gr Potato Starch
  • 50 gr spinach
  • 3gr chilli oil


  1. Cut all vegetable into shreds. Deep fry vegetables until shredded taro becomes crispy.
  2. Boil all shredded vegetable then drain water
  3. heat up the wok, add cooking oil and shredded vegetables to stir fry
  4. Add all seasoning and sesame oil to stir fried together
  5. Add chili oil and stir fry for awhile
  6. Dilute potato starch with water to thicken, set aside until chilled

Momo Skin Ingredients:

  • 225 gr Hong kong flour
  • 75 gr Bread flour
  • 20 ml frying oil
  • 150 ml hot water


  1. Mix salt and flour together
  2. Boil water, then mix into the flour until even
  3. cover dough with cling film and set aside to rest for 30 minutes
